I've been saying this for years (and I am old enough to be allowed to make that statement): Life is silly. I have searched for a word and that is the best one to describe life and that's it. That's the one. I was on the phone this morning with an academic adviser and she informed me that the conversation we were having was "silly." I suppose it was. She didn't really want to believe the things I was telling her. All of her questions seemed like ones I would ask an adviser, or the registrar. We don't have great administrative powers here, we just aid kids in fleeing the country.

I feel as though I should update for all of my fans out there, but I never know quite what to say. I suppose I could tell you news happening in my life...but there really isn't any. My life is rather mundane. I could tell you about the annoying guy at work who keeps using the same worn out joke about me watching soap operas on the television that shows us the "international news" (this is the lame justification to getting a tv in the office) every time he shows someone new into the office. He left the country for a while. It was a nice break. I suppose the guests don't realize that the joke is old, but I do and so should he. I put the television on the Disney channel as mini-revenge, so that the next morning when he turned it on, cartoons were running amuck instead of serial killers and rapists. That caught him off guard a bit, and our relationship has become more amiable as a result. Or I could tell you how Mike and Tim schooled me in Super Smash Bros. last night. I still can't keep my buttons straight. What can I say? I could tell you about my adventures in Christmas decoration or the ongoing quest for cleanliness and unexpired milk. But I won't. I will say that between the Starbucks coffee at work and my other half (Megan) being a slave, I mean shift lead, at Starbucks, I am getting quite spoiled and am unsure of whether I will ever be able to go back to other coffee ever again.

I may get to see Tiffany in a couple weeks and this is exciting to me. I don't know whether it will be in Austin or Dallas at this point. Any opinions either way?

Recap of thanksgiving.
Built a barn.
Popped a wheely on our ATV, completely on accident of course. haha.
A giant 600 lb pig showed up on the back porch, and hasn't left since. One of the horses has befriended the pig, and they are now inseperable.
Ate way too much (obviously)
Got head butted in the butt twice by a miniature horse and got knocked over.
Worked a really big drill.
Yeah, it's a bit different out there than in Dallas...haha

Ok so Dr. Phil's son has decided to attend SMU. So apparently on his show...the "Dr. Phil Show," Phil and his wife Robin have a 7 minute and 36 second segment about empty nests because their youngest son has left for college. There are a couple of shots of our campus. Unfortunately for his son, anyone at SMU who did not happen to catch this short a little over 5 minutes of fame can now download the clip at www.smu.edu. It is and has been the number one item under News and Events. I guess we had to move on from Judge Miers sometime. Sigh...oh, and Karl Rove was here a few weeks ago. Rumor has it, his son is looking to attend SMU also. President Turner didn't meet me on the steps of the administration building when I was a prospective student. How strange...

So yesterday, in a very last minute decision, Meghan and I went to College Station for the A&M vs. SMU football game. The game was at 11:30, so we had to leave quite early (after I had only 3 and a half hours of sleep) to get all the way down there before kickoff. You might say, why, I didn't know that they are football fans. Why did they go all the way to college station for a game? We tend to say "why not go all the way to college stateion to go to a football game." So it was a very good day. We got out of Dallas ( MUCH NEEDED) for the whole day, and hd a lovely day. After the game we were riding the shuttle back to our car and there was a little boy next to me and I asked him how old he is. He told me he's 29 years old....he's 2 1/2. Haha. Then we went and hung out with Cody for a couple of hours and went to a Corps BBQ. Let me tell you...all those college corps guys...it was a nice BBQ and we got to meet some cool people. And we saw Stephanie and Andrew from Spring Break, which was great. So anyways, it's been an awesome weekend...hope you guys had a great one too!

Little birthday surprise

So I got a birthday card from my aunt and 22 month old baby cousin. The card has Winnie the Pooh stickers all over it...most of the upside down. They are all over the place with no organization. Totally cute. Then the inside has a card from my aunt, then a 'colored' picture from a coloring book. And then this little piece of wax paper with tissue paper and googly eyes glued to it, and it is labeled "my puppy". This is probably the cutest gift I have ever recieved for my birthday. The end. We took up collections for hurricane relief this Sunday in worship - one for local efforts and one for national efforts through the conference of the UMC.
Local efforts: $21,721.00
National efforts: $12,582.00
TOTAL collection: $34,303.00

I just helped a man who came into our church looking for help getting a cell phone. (He landed a job this morning, and has found a place to stay. He says he has "no one in the world"... Sad.)

We are apparently very boring people. Meghan is in Austin/Houston right now...but will be back tomorrow! Megan moved out last week, so it's been pretty quite around here...it's almost like living alone...haha, she definately adds some energy to the apartment. We are going to go dancing tomorrow...let us know if you want to come! It's going to be fun...
Right now I am watching a retarded movie that 8 year olds would probably think is retarded...should be changing the movie out pretty soon...
I bought a lot more movies today...my movie collection is pretty big now! eek...very exciting...
I have redone a lot of my room, well cleaned it really well...done some new pictures, and completely changed out my bedding...I love it! Its all black and burgandy/red ish.
Also, I'm kind of hungry! It's midnight, and I'm hungry. I ate dinner tonight ( I forgot to the other night) and now I'm hungry again. And I have this incredible burst of energy at midnight! lol...
Oh, and I have been teaching at the Lake Highlands summer marching camp, doing the flute sectionals. They are sounding so much better, I'm really excited. So I am going 10 to 2 everyday, with lunch from 12 to 1...and lunch is paid for and delivered by the band club (like real food, mexican food, chicken, pizza, etc.) and all of this for some pretty good money. So then today they tell the woodwind teachers that we don't need to come in until 1 tomorrow because they are doing something in the moring. So I am going from 1 to 2 tomorrow, and getting the same amount of money. So yeah, definately no complaints. That's my week. And this is my night. I have way too much energy to even look at my bed. Ha.

I have been having the weirdest, most random dreams. Like these short clips of random, weird, dream like things that are so off the wall, you would never repeat them to anyone. And you know that if I won't say it out loud, it's probably pretty out there. And they have been very vivid, the kind where you remember them perfectly when you wake up, and still remember them hours after you wake up. Most dreams you kind of remember when you wake up, and then forget about them. Well, I have had many vivid memorable short dream clips the last couple of days. haha...at least I'm entertaining myself, even if it's in a weird way. go team go.

My sister is awesome...My brother is pretty cool too, though he can be a jerk, proves he's a guy I suppose. Mara is listening to my ipod, she has recently become obsessed with Evanescence. Bought a bed today. It's soft. Be back in Dallas on Thursday for one night, back for good on Monday.
